(ERGO) – During the past week (9-15 October 2025), callers to Radio Ergo’s audience feedback platform announced the start of rain in several areas of the country, including Bari region, and parts of Galgadud, Hiran, Middle Shabelle, and Bay regions. At the same time, around an equal number of callers complained of continued drought in areas in Somaliland, Mudug, Galgadud, Hirshabelle, Bay, and also Gedo region. Overall, the calls in this period produced a very mixed picture with some communities saying they were planting and now had water and grazing for their livestock, whilst others speaking of livestock losses and ongoing hardship.
