Among the audience feedback recorded this week (8-14 October 2026) on Radio Ergo’s nationwide independent phone-in platform, several callers spoke of destructive floods that were caused by river overflows or very heavy rainfall. These came mostly from parts of Hirshabelle and Bay region in South West state. Others expressed fears of flooding as a result of the warnings circulating about El Nino. The most talked about topic among callers overall was rainfall, with many citing heavy and beneficial rain, especially across Galgadud region, Hirshabelle, South West, and Jubbaland. A smaller number cited continuing dry conditions, in some cases causing hardship, from scattered locations in Somaliland, Puntland, central regions, and Jubbaland.
