Desert locusts are continuing to wreak havoc across many parts of the country, destroying crops and grazing land and eating away at Somali livelihoods.
This is the first in a new Radio Ergo series featuring reports, information, and advice from experts about locusts, their impact, and control activities. The expert guests are Dr Mohamed Hassan in Hargeisa and Dr Hared Abdullahi Nur in Garowe. They are Field Crop Protection Officers with Food and Agriculture (FAO)’s Desert Locust programme in Somalia.
