The most prominent topic among this week’s calls (26 September – 2 October 2024) to Radio Ergo’s nationwide audience feedback platform was the absence of rainfall leading to drought and water scarcity. The calls expressing the highest levels of stress came mainly from parts of Togdher and Sanag in the north, Puntland, and central Somalia Some callers in Galmudug spoke of livestock dying. From other parts of Hirshabelle, Bay, Gedo, and Lower Juba regions, a number of callers raised concerns over the lack of rainfall and worries for their farms in particular. Many callers in different regions spoke of very high temperatures. At the same time, some callers in parts of Somaliland and Galgadud spoke of getting rainfall.
