(ERGO) – Calls this week (22-18 February 2024) to Radio Ergo’s nationwide audience feedback platform included a substantial number, especially in the north, who were concerned about prolonged dry weather or drought. Several callers in Puntland and central regions spoke of shortages of food alongside water shortage and drought. Locusts were reported in a few northern parts. Callers in the south notably Bardera, Gedo, urged support for rebuilding damaged road infrastructure. Many herders notably in northern and central regions called asking for advice or veterinary assistance for livestock diseases, including diseases causing deaths among goats and sheep. Farmers mainly in post-flood hit areas of the south wanted advice about crop pests. Some callers mentioned rainfall or anticipation of rain.
