(ERGO) – Calls this week to Radio Ergo’s feedback platform (30 November to 6 December 2023) reflected the continuing hardships caused by the impact of severe flooding especially in southern and riverine regions. Many farmers said their crops were ruined. Several callers spoke of shortages of food and challenges of supplies with roads cut off. More callers this week were concerned about health issues including malaria, diarrhoea, and respiratory diseases, and some also mentioned livestock diseases. Callers in Mogadishu wanted the authorities to clear up flood water to enable people to move around again. Repair of damaged infrastructure was also a concern of people living in other regions. A significant number of callers in various regions said they were doing well after good rainfall.
