(ERGO) – The prolonged drought in many parts of the country experiencing failed or inadequate rainfall was the major preoccupation of callers this week (28 October to 3 November 2021) to Radio Ergo’s feedback platform. Callers in Somaliland, Puntland and central regions spoke of the migration of people seeking water and grazing causing stress on resources in areas of arrival. Many spoke of livestock deaths and general pressure on lives and livelihoods. Locust invasions aggravated hardships for communities in some areas where there was drought and other areas where rain has fallen. Calls about COVID19 indicated concern over the virus in Somaliland and Puntland.
