(ERGO) – The calls from Radio Ergo listeners during the week 18-24 November 2021 were overwhelmingly focused on the distress being caused by deepening drought and lack of water. There were large numbers of calls from northern regions, most notably Togdher, and also Sanag and Sool; and similar large numbers from Nugal, Mudug, and Galgadud. There were also many calls from the Shabelle and Juba regions and from Gedo in the south.
Another topic of concern among callers mainly from Sanag was the invasion of locusts destroying vegetation and pasture. Livestock health and disease was a big concern among the callers. Among other topics, callers complained about aid not reaching the droughtaffected families in Dollow, Gedo.
