(ERGO) – Water shortage and drought were the predominant concerns among callers this week (14-19 March 2021) to Radio Ergo’s independent nationwide call-in platform. Locusts also remained a major concern. Many communities across the country reported being raved by a combination of drought, water and pasture shortages, and locusts, causing a heavy toll on pastoralist and farming livelihoods. The number of callers about Coronavirus was also up on the previous week, suggesting spread of the disease in many areas.

The feedback platform is open for listeners to call in on the topic of their choice. We listen to and transcribe the messages received and compile weekly reports, as a way of sharing these local voices among a wider community, including national and international decision-makers and responders.
