The major issues of concern among callers this week (12-17 February 2021) to Radio Ergo’s independent audience feedback platform were drought, water and food shortage, and the harsh impact on livelihoods. There was also a large number of calls about locusts. Many of these callers raised a number of interlinked problems, including livestock in poor health and lack of support services and absence of aid. This week also showed an increase in the number of calls to the Radio Doctor asking questions about Coronavirus.
The feedback platform is open for listeners to call in on the topic of their choice. We listen to and transcribe the messages received and compile weekly reports, as a way of sharing these local voices among a wider community, including national and international decision-makers and responders.
