The most common issues raised by callers to Radio Ergo’s independent feedback platform this week (28 January to 4 February 2021) were the destructive impact of locusts and increasing water shortages in parts of the country. The numbers reporting water scarcity rose compared to previous weeks. There were also many calls citing a combination of problems, notably locusts, water scarcity, livestock illness, and livelihood distress. Conflict in central Somalia was also mentioned, and there were more callers to the Radio Doctor about Coronavirus.
The feedback platform is open for listeners to call in on the topic of their choice. We listen to and transcribe the messages received and compile weekly reports, as a way of sharing these local voices among a wider community, including national and international decision-makers and responders.
