The invasion of new waves of desert locusts was the topic of more than two thirds of calls to Radio Ergo’s independent feedback platform this week (11-15
October 2020). The biggest number by far came from central Somalia, with many others from northern regions. Other callers’ concerns were water shortage in
some northern and central parts; the effects of floods along the river Shabelle; and Coronavirus. The following summarises the calls gathered from around the
country by theme.

The feedback platform is open for listeners to call in on the topic of their choice. We listen to and transcribe the messages received and compile weekly reports, as a way of sharing these local voices among a wider community, including national and international decision-makers and responders.
