The impact of the prolonged drought across the country preoccupied most callers to Radio Ergo’s nationwide audience feedback platform this week (4-10 December 2025). The majority of calls to the toll-free platform mentioned the lack or inadequacy of rainfall, shortage of water, food and livestock fodder, and losses of livestock and crops. Some callers noted diseases affecting people and livestock, related to the drought conditions. Callers displaced by conflict or drought, or both, expressed hardships in camps or elsewhere without any humanitarian aid or other assistance.
