Callers this week (7-13 November 2024) to Radio Ergo’s nationwide audience feedback platform welcomed rainfall across many parts of the country, notably in Togdher and Sool in the north, some central areas, and scattered parts of the south. Some of these callers noted that the rain was little or inconsistent. Other callers, meanwhile, complained of drought and water shortage, including several in Sanag region, who said they were losing their livestock. Two callers in Hirshabelle said they had been affected by river flooding and appealed for help, whilst IDPs in Galgadud and Bay regions called for aid. Many farmers called asking for advice and help to curb pests spoiling their crops. Livestock herders reported ticks affecting their livestock as well as diseases affecting goats and sheep.
