(ERGO) – This is our first audience feedback analysis report in 2024 and reflects calls recorded on the Radio Ergo nationwide free call-in platform between 4-11 January.
Many callers celebrated the arrival of the seasonal deyr rains, especially in parts of Somaliland and some in central Somalia. A significant number of other callers, mainly farmers, noted the challenges they were still facing trying to recover from the recent floods, with a few reporting ongoing flooding. Callers in several regions, particularly where floods had struck, raised concerns over outbreaks of diarrhoeal diseases and poor nutrition among their children. Livestock keepers mostly in northern and central regions cited various diseases and conditions affecting their animals and wanted veterinary treatment and advice. Locusts damaging crops were reported in Togdher and Mudug.
