The majority of calls this week (3-8 September 2020) were about the devastation caused by locusts, especially across the north. Repeat flooding in areas around the river Shabelle were also a cause of concern to affected farming communities. An increased number of callers spoke of drought and water scarcity, alongside other problems such as locusts and livestock disease. There were a smaller number of calls about Coronavirus, indicating however that the disease was still present in the community.

The feedback platform is open for listeners to call in on the topic of their choice. We listen to and transcribe the messages received and compile weekly reports, as a way of sharing these local voices among a wider community, including national and international decision-makers and responders.
