(ERGO) – Among the messages shared on Radio Ergo’s nationwide, independent audience call-in platform this week (22-30 September 2026), callers citing rainfall in their areas came mainly from parts of Hirshabelle and Jubaland states, whilst those complaining of persistent, intense drought or delayed rainfall came mainly from northern and central regions. Several wanted more information on weather updates especially the start of El Nino. Conflict in Baidoa was a major concern for callers, with several saying the airstrikes and fighting had caused deaths and displacements, and that humanitarian conditions had been worsened. Food security reports varied along with the rainfall, with some in Middle Shabelle saying they had good harvests, but others citing rising food prices and mixed fortunes due to the climatic conditions. A number of callers had questions about preventing and treating malnutrition in their children.
