The calls from listeners across the country to Radio Ergo’s audience feedback platform this week (27 November to 3 December 2025) were predominantly about the harsh drought and the worsening impacts on people’s lives and livelihoods. Callers from southern regions including Gedo, Lower Juba, the Shabelles, and Bay were especially prominent. There were also many callers from Sool, Sanag, and other parts of Somaliland, and from Bari in Puntland (where calls to this platform are usually sparse for unknown reasons). There were some drought callers from Galmudug, though fewer than last week. People described dead and dying livestock, failed farms, food shortages, displacement due to lack of water, and having to travel far to find water. Some livestock owners linked diseases facing their herds to the drought; others spoke of aggravating factors notably conflict in some areas, and lack of access to basic health and education services.
