Almost half of this week’s callers (9-15 July 2020) were preoccupied by the invasions of locusts devouring crops and grazing land across Somaliland, Puntland, central Somalia, and some southern regions. Concerns were also expressed about containing COVID19, and related effects of the outbreak on livelihoods, jobs, and rising food prices. There were calls for help from flood-stricken communities in Middle Shabelle and Gedo, and reports of water scarcity especially from parts of the north.

The feedback platform is open for listeners to call in on the topic of their choice. We listen to and transcribe the messages received and compile weekly reports, as a way of sharing these local voices among a wider community, including national and international decision-makers and responders.

Read the full report and analysis of feedback from communities across Somalia.
